Archiving Policy

Emerging Trends in Engineering and Sustainability (ETES) is firmly committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its scholarly content. To safeguard the integrity and continuity of published research, ETES employs a robust digital archiving strategy in collaboration with the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system. This decentralized and distributed archiving infrastructure ensures perpetual, uninterrupted access to the authentic, original versions of all journal content, even in the event of catastrophic failure or discontinuation.

In addition to CLOCKSS, ETES maintains a comprehensive backup and data recovery policy to prevent loss or corruption of data. This includes both onsite and remote backup systems:

  • Onsite Backup: Full server backups are executed daily by the hosting provider and retained for a period of seven days. These backups are stored on the primary hosting server (Hetzner) and mirrored on a secondary hosting server, ensuring redundancy and rapid disaster recovery capability.
  • Remote Backup: ETES also performs remote backups of the database every seven days, alongside daily backups of the cPanel environment. This multi-tiered approach strengthens the resilience of the journal’s digital infrastructure and guarantees the ongoing preservation of its academic content.
